Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Intern (PAID)

Your Role

As a SHEQ Intern, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety, health, environmental, and quality initiatives across the organization. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance, risk identification, incident prevention, and environmental management systems.

This role provides an opportunity to learn how SHEQ programs support operational excellence while helping promote a strong culture of safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing safety, health, environmental, and quality programs in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support facility inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with risk assessments and track corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain SHEQ documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and environmental records.
  • Participate in incident investigations by gathering information and supporting root cause analysis.
  • Help track SHEQ performance metrics and assist with reporting and data analysis.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety and environmental awareness training.
  • Assist with projects related to environmental management systems and industry certifications (e.g., ISO standards).

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and take initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Interest in safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This role is based in Delanco, NJ and may include time in both office and operational environments while supporting inspections, audits, and safety initiatives.
