Job Position: Visual and Performing Arts Teacher

Location: Rockford, IL 61107

Pay Rate: W2, hourly; starting at $32/hour & up (based on experience)

Description:

Looking for a role where your creativity inspires students and brings learning to life through the arts? We’re seeking a Visual and Performing Arts Teacher for a full‑time, school‑year position. This role is based in a single-building setting, giving you the consistency and collaboration needed to build strong relationships with students and staff. You’ll design and deliver engaging arts instruction, foster creativity and self‑expression, and contribute to a vibrant school culture where every student has the opportunity to shine.

What you’ll need:

  • Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) Arts endorsement

  • Experience teaching visual and/or performing arts

  • Ability to create engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate lessons

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills

  • Passion for fostering creativity and student expression

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in visual and/or performing arts aligned with state standards

  • Encourage creativity, collaboration, and self‑expression among students

  • Assess and monitor student progress in artistic skills and concepts

  • Organize performances, exhibits, or showcases when appropriate

  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment

  • Collaborate with staff to support student success and school initiatives
