Youth Ministry Student Experience Coordinators

About Working at Blueprint

Blueprint Ministries is a San Antonio-based non-profit restoring homes and restoring hope for households living at or below the poverty line. Blueprint provides a unique opportunity for college-aged leaders to serve, develop professional skills, and make a meaningful impact. In a typical year, Blueprint restores 20–30 homes through the contributions of 1,500 volunteers across 50 partner organizations. Blueprint equips all summer staff with the tools, training, and spiritual support needed to thrive in a high-energy, community-driven environment.

Position Overview

The Youth Ministry Student Experience Coordinator roles work directly alongside the Camp Director to drive the daily energy, spiritual culture, and logistical flow of Blueprint’s summer mission camps. This position balances ministry operations, creative development, group coordination, and direct relational engagement with youth participants and adult leaders. While construction staff lead the job sites, the Camp Program Staff owns the camper experience on campus—from chapel design and devotional writing to evening events, media capture, and hospitality operations.

Half-summer and Full-summer opportunities are available

May 31-July 2- First Half

July 4- August 6- Second Half

May 31- August 6- Full Summer

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual & Creative Leadership

  • Relational Youth Ministry: Build intentional, encouraging relationships with middle and high school students throughout the week, fostering a welcoming and spiritually supportive atmosphere.
  • Theme & Curriculum Development: Collaborate with camp leadership to write, shape, and execute the seasonal camp theme and author daily devotional materials for campers and group leaders.
  • Worship & Chapel Programming: Plan, organize, and execute daily chapel services and worship gatherings, coordinating music, technical elements, and guest speakers or staff teachings.

Group Communication & Guest Experience

  • Church & Group Leader Liaison: Support the Camp Director in serving as a primary point of contact for visiting youth pastors, church partners, and group leaders to ensure seamless arrival, schedule clarity, and customer care.
  • Campus Life & Event Hosting: Plan and host high-energy evening programming, including Trivia Nights, Bingo, Scrapbook Nights, and active campus tournaments (e.g., cornhole, ping pong).
  • Retail & Hospitality Operations: Oversee the daily management and staffing of the campus snack bar and merchandise store, including inventory tracking and guest services.

Media & Storytelling

  • Onsite Photography/Video: Visit active construction work sites during the day to capture photos and media of campers, leaders, and home transformation projects for daily recaps and promotional materials. Gathering short tiktok/instagram reels of the camper experience.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

  • Creative & Writing Ability: Strong written communication skills for devotional creation, lesson writing, and event design.
  • Public Speaking & Hosting: Comfort presenting on stage, leading games, and hosting large group gatherings with enthusiasm.
  • Organization & Logistics: Capable of balancing multiple concurrent event schedules, retail operations, and administrative communications.
  • Adaptability & Initiative: Strong self-starter who can solve problems independently and maintain a positive attitude through demanding summer camp schedules.

Compensation & Schedule Logistics

  • Compensation: Paid a competitive weekly stipend throughout the summer contract.
  • Living Arrangements: Program Staff live on-site at the Blueprint campus from Sunday afternoon through Friday after camp wrap-up each week. Host home arrangements are provided on weekends for non-local staff.

Blueprint Mission

  • Community Connection: Expressing Christ’s love, hope, and grace within the urban San Antonio community.
  • Substandard Housing Restoration: Repairing and renovating homes for low-income San Antonio homeowners.
  • Purposeful Youth Engagement: Providing meaningful restoration work and leadership opportunities for youth and adult volunteers.
