At Cornerstone, we believe that we are called by Jesus to serve our neighbors, through Christ-centered, whole person healthcare to the community and to those who call on us.

The Cornerstone Family Health (CFH) Summer Internship Program (SIP) is designed to give students experience in Christian ministry in the context of hands-on medical care. This role is designed for students who have interests in multiple fields and/or Christian ministry. Over the course of several weeks interns will get to see the workings of a ministry-minded independent clinic and leave an impact on the local underserved community.

Fields of interest include: medicine, nursing, medical policy/administration, patient coordination, I.T., graphic design, service/hospitality, donor relations, spiritual care and outreach, counseling, non-profit, and marketing/development. Interns will work with practicing physicians, and a diverse team of volunteers dedicated to providing excellent primary medical care in a gospel-setting.

Responsibilities:

This position is perfect for students who are interested in supporting the practice of the clinic and serving our patients, either in person (preferred) or remotely. Students can expect to:

  • Answer phone calls for scheduling appointments and patients’ inquiries
  • Maintain daily operations and execute administrative tasks including medical billing, insurance work, patient paperwork, and record-keeping
  • Assist parents and children in the reception area
  • Assist in basic patient care
  • Assist in sharing the Gospel, connect with ministries
  • Update email list and website, manage social media
  • Perform various administrative and clinical support duties as needed

As we are a volunteer-run clinic, Summer Interns are unpaid, but hours can be flexible and there are opportunities to raise support which Cornerstone will assist with.
