SUMMARY/SCOPE:
Hardin-Simmons serves students through quality educational programs within the classroom as well as outside the classroom through an active student development program. The Office of University Events is responsible for providing a positive customer service experience to all living in Hardin-Simmons University Housing for Summer Camps and Conferences. This position is fluid in nature and will require students to operate on a fluctuating schedules and duties from day to day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Camps Hosts will be asked to manage residential responsibilities that may include but are not limited to lockouts, After hours on-call duty, room inspections, helping relocate student belongings, assisting with furniture removal, housing check-ins and move-outs, as well as any duty needed communicated by the Director of University Events or Event Services Staff.
Each hired Camp Host will be assigned a consistent day of the week for assigned duties along with other predetermined dates.
Students will be expected to stay in the assigned residence hall when camps are in residence in their halls. Schedules are pre determined.
Students will receive summer housing, and meals in the HSU Caf when open.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
No previous experience required. Residence life experience preferred. Must be enrolled for Fall 2025 semester and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Student will be required to walk up and down stairs and may be asked to be able to life up to 50lbs.
Student also may be asked to help with lockouts and or other student needs outside normal operating hours.
