ROLE OVERVIEW
The Sports Analyst & Researcher supports ITH’s content team with in-depth football research, data analysis, and scouting breakdowns. Your work powers the facts behind every video, article, podcast episode, and interview ITH produces.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research players, teams, and recruiting classes for upcoming ITH content and interviews
- Compile statistics, depth charts, and scouting information for the content team
- Track NFL Draft prospect rankings and update ITH’s player profiles as rankings change
- Monitor recruiting news across 247Sports, On3, and Rivals, and flag relevant stories to the team
- Produce weekly research reports on upcoming games, signings, and roster moves
- Assist interview hosts with player research packets before each interview
- Identify story opportunities based on current news and ITH’s existing interview archive
QUALIFICATIONS — REQUIRED
- Exceptional research skills — you can find and verify information quickly and accurately
- Deep football knowledge — NFL, college, and high school recruiting
- Familiarity with recruiting databases — 247Sports, On3, Rivals, ESPN recruiting
- Strong written communication — research reports need to be clear and usable
- Detail-oriented and accurate — bad information damages the brand
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Able to receive academic credit for the internship through your institution
- Strong work ethic, reliable, and deadline-driven
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
- Passionate about football — high school, college, and NFL
- Professional communication skills — Slack and email primarily
- Must download and use Slack and Notion for team communication
QUALIFICATIONS — PREFERRED
- Statistics or data analysis background
- Experience with Pro Football Reference, PFF, or similar analytics platforms
- Prior sports journalism or scouting experience
- Sports Management, Kinesiology, or Communications major

We have been credentialed at the Reese’s Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, Elite 11 Finals, IMG Academy, Navy All-American Bowl, OT7 Nationals, and the Corky Kell Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Former ITH contributors have gone on to work at major news networks, sports outlets, and ESPN. This internship offers real credentials, real published work, and real access to professional football.
This is an unpaid internship position. The intern is the primary beneficiary of this relationship. All work performed is educational in nature and designed to complement the intern’s academic training. Interns work under direct supervision and do not displace paid employees. College credit facilitation is available through your institution
