White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC) is accepting applications for interns. Located at beautiful Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, WVC is 80 miles west of Indianapolis. Here you’ll find USDA certified organic farmland where we grow vegetables, flowers and herbs. There are also two high tunnels, two greenhouses, an orchard, a berry patch, a classified forest, alpacas, chickens and a farm store. At WVC you’ll get to work with our team of knowledgeable, dedicated and caring people. You’ll also work and live with other interns from all over the country, in this hands-on learning environment.

About White Violet Center for Eco-Justice

White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence since 1996, is teaching, caring, inspiring for all creation. The Center provides opportunities for participating in creating systems that support justice and sustainability, locally and globally. Through organic agriculture, eco-justice education and social advocacy, White Violet Center strives to promote an awareness and way of living which support all life.

We are a teaching farm. Our internship is an immersive, practical experience where you’ll learn firsthand about local agriculture and animal husbandry. If you’re interested in learning about fiber arts, then make sure to include winter months in your experience. While there is always plenty of garden work that needs to be done year-round, the colder weather does give us more time to devote to spinning, weaving, skirting and felting. An internship at WVC is a great way to connect with nature, learn about growing food and living more sustainably.
