With an interdisciplinary team of around 9,000 experts, EDAG develops unique mobility and industrial solutions for customers that include the world’s leading automotive and non-automotive companies.

This is how you will grow:

  • Building finite element (FE) models of automotive structures from CAD data, and validate against physical data
  • Perform structural evaluations in the fields of NVH, crash/safety, durability, CFD, vehicle dynamics and prepare engineering reports and presentations
  • Perform structural assessments to improve design performance such as alternative materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Implementing efficient processes to speed up project workflow using AI tools and scripting languages.
  • Gain knowledge of computational analysis codes such as MSC Nastran/Adams, LSC LS-DYNA, Abaqus; along with pre-post tools such as Beta CAE‘s ANSA/Meta Post, Altair‘s Hyper works, Oasys Suite, and Animator.
  • Introduction to linear, non-linear optimization, multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO); using tools such as HEEDS, Genesis, Opti struct and LS-OPT.
  • Support project planning, coordination, and tracking activities, including documentation, meeting preparation, status reporting, and communication with internal engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering program Preferred
  • Familiarity of Finite Element Analysis course work or Previous internship (desired but not required)
  • SAE/Formula project experience Preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
